The concept of the muse inspiring art isn’t new, but the idea that I’ve been a muse to my suitors–inspiring them to improve their own quality of life through positive action? That has been so gratifying to me. One of my favorite loves started working with a personal trainer after watching me roll out of bed every morning to continue my yoga practice, even though we were on lazy and luxurious vacation together; another beau brought a mindfulness practice to his office after he learned how it’s helped me surmount high-stress situations in school. I never set out to influence the people around me (it’s not my place to make a “project” of another person’s life), but I love to hear about it if I have. Inspiring others to care for themselves is one of the most beautiful facets of how I live my life, and I hope to continue to ignite these little fires in the people I care for.
